Exploring a Unique Steam Demo: Guiding a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Reach the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have encountered plenty of entertaining creations from small studios. Yet, one stands out for its unconventional concept. Titled Unko Technica, this retro-inspired jumping adventure includes a character that is truly a dung striving to travel to a toilet. In case you're wondering, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."
The gameplay is easy to grasp: press a jump control. Throughout 150 levels, encounter tough enemies and access a shop to acquire skins for your dung hero.
Plan your jumps precisely, as a wrong move forces starting over. Leap on floating orbs to launch your character to new heights, traverse crumbling surfaces, and touch buttons to open hidden paths. Earn coins to purchase tougher levels where the action gets crazy.
Visually, the experience shows off neon environments and an amazing soundtrack. Its minimalist graphics of moving basic polygons could recall players of beloved games like Earthbound.
Although difficult to recall other games where you are a piece of feces, video games frequently incorporated toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, you can create explosives from character excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as soil enrichment. Naturally, fecal references is present a lot in the adventure The Stick of Truth.
Despite its humorous idea, Unko Technica has already earned notable accolades, including being named best at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is ready currently on Steam, with the final release planned to arrive on Steam this November.
